Caves beach is a stunning feature of the magnificent Central Coast region of NSW. It is just a little bit south of Swansea and to experience the full wonder of this place its really best to enter the cave early morning before the sun has risen. The best way to see this special place is to scramble around the rocks and through the water (much better if it is low tide), keeping the equipment dry. Setting up the tripod and watch and wait as the darkened horizon takes on a deep red glow. The swoosh of waves and the outline of rocks transform; increasing visual presence as the ever changing mood of the horizon becomes increasingly yellow and the textured conglomerate rock of the cave walls and roof sing in the early morning of a new day.
